I am a wife, momma of 2, a psychotherapist, registered yoga teacher, and lover of life.  I am also a recovering perfectionist and know first hand about the challenges of battling anxiety.  I draw not only on my training and experience but also my real-life personal understanding.  I am inspired and fulfilled by working with my clients (other things I love to do include hanging with the fam and friends, crafting, organizing & decorating, eating sushi, Zumba, learning new things, and family bike rides :)

I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2003 and I have a passion for self-esteem & relationship concerns, anxiety management, group work and women’s issues.  Both my undergraduate degree and Masters in Social Work came from the University of Georgia and I love living in Athens, Georgia!  My counseling career began with leading multi-family groups through a court-mandated family intervention program.  I also worked at the University of Georgia Health Center’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services doing individual and group counseling for ten years.

In 2012 I realized my path was leading me to enroll in a yoga teacher training, and I embarked on a journey that would change me forever, both personally and professionally.  After completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training, I immediately began incorporating yoga methods & philosophy in my clinical work with clients. I also lead psychotherapeutic yoga classes and groups through the University of Georgia Health Center.  In 2020, I completed my 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Asheville Yoga Center.

Adding yoga to my therapeutic toolbox helped me to incorporate our ever-important BODY into helping people heal.  Yoga was the missing piece to my personal journey as well as my work as a therapist. I feel grateful to have witnessed countless life changes happening with this powerful duo and am excited for what is yet to come!
